Lantern Hollow

Lantern Hollow is a calm adventure game that never rushes you. You wander a hand-drawn town, help its odd residents, and slowly uncover why the lanterns keep going out. Puzzles are woven into the world rather than dropped in as obstacles, so solving them feels like part of the story.

The art and sound do a lot of heavy lifting. Every screen looks like a little painting, and the soft soundtrack makes it a lovely thing to play late at night. Nothing about it is stressful, which is exactly what I wanted from it.

If you need action or a challenge, this isn't it. But as a quiet, cozy experience for an evening or two, it's one of the nicest mobile adventures I've played this year.
